Frequency Response Function Measurements via Local Rational Modeling, Revisited

چکیده
A finite measurement time is at the origin of transient (sometimes called leakage) errors in nonparametric frequency response function (FRF) estimation. If FRF varies significantly over resolution experiment (= reciprocal time), then these transients (leakage) cause important bias and variance estimate. To decrease errors, several local modeling techniques have been proposed literature. This article presents an overview existing methods gives in-depth analysis disturbing noise estimates. In addition, a new approach described, which combines small error rational approximation with low sensitivity polynomial approximation. It based on automatic model-order selection procedure applied to specific subclass functions.

Parameter Estimation from Frequency Response Measurements Using Rational Fraction Polynomials
This is a new formulation which overcomes many of the numerical analysis problems associated with an old least squared error parameter estimation technique. Overcoming these problems has made this technique feasible for implementation on mini-computer based measurement systems. This technique is not only useful in modal analysis applications for identifying the modal parameters of structures, b...
متن کاملNon-parametric frequency response estimation using a local rational model
A review of the relationship between the frequency response function of linear system and the DFT of the input and output signals show that the output DFT is a sum of two terms. The first term contain the FRF multiplied with the input DFT and the second term capture the effect when the system is not operating in a periodic fashion. The utilization of these two terms when performing non-parametr...
متن کاملTransformer Modeling Based on Standard Frequency Response Measurements
High frequency models of large power transformers are required for analysis of transient interaction phenomena between transformers and the power system. Fast transient overvoltages may lead to transformer dielectric failures. Deeper understanding of the mechanisms may help to take actions against possible damages. This paper describes the simulation principle of transient interaction in matter...
متن کاملSeedling emergence response to temperature in safflower: measurements and modeling
Quantitative information about the response of seedling emergence totemperature for safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) is rare. The main objective ofthe present study was to develop a model for predicting days to emergence forsafflower as influenced by the temperature. In this regard, a field experiment with arange of sowing dates and four safflower cultivars were conducted to describe theresp...
متن کاملImpact of nonlinear friction on frequency response function measurements
This paper discusses the impact of nonlinear friction on frequency response function (FRF) measurements of mechanical systems with nonlinear friction. Having an idea of the level of nonlinear distortion is valuable information for robust linear control design: it allows to estimate the level of accuracy of a linear approximation of the system under consideration. The impact of nonlinear distort...
